What to do at the Scene of an Automobile Accident
Any type of accident can result in extreme confusion.
However, knowing what
to do if you’re involved in an accident can make seeking compensation much
easier.
First and foremost, contact emergency personnel. Medical
professionals and law enforcement officers will need to come to the scene of
the accident to ensure you and your passengers are properly taken care of. Make
sure you cooperate with all emergency personnel, but never admit fault when
speaking to anyone.
Remember, even if you are cleared by on-site medical
professionals, seek medical attention as soon as possible. There are certain
injuries that may not be immediately apparent. You will need a thorough
screening to check for these complications.
Gather Information
Whenever possible, gather as much information as possible.
This will include:
·
Insurance, license plate, and contact
information of all involved drivers
- Contact information of any bystanders or witnesses
- Pictures of the accident from multiple angles
- Names and contact information for all emergency personnel
Before you admit to anything or sign any documents, be sure
you have spoken to a B.C. auto accident lawyer. The lawyers at our firm will
investigate your accident and help ensure you are provided with the full
compensation you deserve.
If you have been involved in an automobile accident anywhere
