Overloading

Overloaded trucks can easily cause truck accidents. An over or improperly loaded truck can decrease a driver’s control over the vehicle. It can also lead to an increased risk for things such as truck rollover, blown tires, and vehicle malfunction.

When an overloaded truck causes an accident, your chance for severe personal injury is greatly increased. If you are injured by an overloaded truck, one of our Delta personal injury attorneys can take your case and fight to get you compensation for damages including medical expenses, lost wages, property damage, and physical and emotional pain and suffering.

Where Blame Lies

It is the responsibility of trucking companies to ensure a trailer is not overloaded. In an attempt to cut costs, many trucking companies will overload a trailer anyway. Responsibility may also lie with the driver who, before accepting a load, should have inspected it to ensure it was not over-full. Responsibility may also lie with government agencies who allowed an overloaded truck to pass weigh stations. Perhaps it lies with several parties. In any event, our attorneys will hold all responsible parties accountable, and fight to get you every penny you are due.

If you have been injured in an accident involving an overloaded truck anywhere in British Columbia, please contact the experienced truck accident attorneys at Stephens & Holman to schedule a free initial consultation today.
